Eltham Lights Up 2004
On Thursday 18th November 2004, Samba Zona Sul, supported by Paraiso School of Samba, lead the Eltham Lights Up annual Lantern Procession along Eltham High Street in South East London. Each year the local community get together and parade down the high street wearing beautiful costumes and carrying lanterns made by local youngsters. The Christmas lights are then switched on before a magnificent fireworks display. Much of the art work on display is made with the help of artists from Emergency Exit Arts in Greenwich.
This year we will be parading with more drummers and dancers than ever before, a sign that our samba project is extremely successful, thanks largely to the ongoing support of Paraiso!
